The Year of the Northern Dog is a program aimed at bringing awareness, attention and action to the escalating animal welfare issue in Canada – Northern dog overpopulation.
- Collaboratively provide animal welfare services and sustainable programs to facilitate a solution to the most urgent need in Canadian animal welfare – the Northern dog overpopulation issue.
- To create awareness of Canada’s Northern communities who lack basic animal welfare necessities. Collaboratively, we will deliver sustainable animal welfare education, services and resources to northern communities who otherwise do not have access. By delivering these much needed tools to Northern communities we will help to eliminate dog overpopulation and create healthier communities for people and pets.
